How can we imagine about hot beer?
When I went to Tibetian restaurant in Napal,
I had a great experience to drink hot beer.

Hot beer was served with a bamboo cup with metal straw.
There are dark grains inside.
Waiter pour the hot water in the cup.
Gradually water color  turn to  white.

Taste is a bit sour and sweet.

Computational Origami

Origami is japanese art folding a paper into various forms.
When I was a child mother always taught me how to fold a bird,
a flower, a box, a fish and so on.
I like origami especially I fold them in the winter time when nothing to do outside.
Since I become younger I lent origami books and learnt from them.

For 6 years ago when I lived in IISC Bangalore India,
There was a seminar of Dr. Havard uni. about origami science.
He gave a lecture of MIURA folding.
It was interested and knew origami is not only for japanese culture anymore.

I remembered that day when I found computational Origami exhibition
at Tokyo university last week.
Computational origami is the geometry and algorithm
plays an important role in many fields such as art,
mathematics, computer science,
engineering, architecture, design and so on.
There are various amazing figures.

By the way above the paper if you fold,
you can find an rabbit below.

SEMAMORI

One of my friend introduced me SEMAMORI.

SEMAMORI is protective amulets, simple and well designed
embroidery stiched onto children`s back of kimono.

It apparently originated mid 15th to begging of 16th centuries.
In old days people believe that devils come from the back and need to charm against them.
Children`s kimonos had less seams than adult and lacked back seam.
So mothers saw semamori  wishing for their babies health because of mortality
babies were higher.

By the way small fish or insects always have ornament by themself
which often like big eyes for against natural enemy.
Mother saw beautiful or fascinate SEMAMORI against devil.

There were various designed and colors.
I find fascinating SEMAMORI.
So I bought a book and learned some of them.
I designed semamori embroideries myself which made in
the thick `washi`(Japanese paper made of natural plant).
